Rowan's 4th birthday

Last Wednesday was Rowan's 4th birthday.  We had a low-key day planned of work and school like normal, then gifts and dinner of her choice at night.

At 5:28 AM, I got the sweetest surprise.....a phone call letting me know that Hamilton had a 2-hour delay!  What a gift to get a couple of extra hours with my birthday girl!  Zeeland was on like normal, so we had a laid-back morning of getting ready, breakfast, and LOTS of books, and then Rowan and I brought Trey to school (also a special treat!).  

Rowan woke up to Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck balloons all over the living room in the morning.  They were on the backs of the stools too, which definitely brought some smiles during breakfast!

We had another hour or so before we had to drop her off at daycare, so we came home to enjoy a bit more time together before heading out.  It was the BEST surprise I could have asked for that day!

Bread with honey on one side, butter and just a dot of grape jelly on the other side for her birthday breakfast.  She was excited about using the special celebration plaste!

I rushed home after work so that Rowan could open her gifts from us.  She was sooooo excited and had a hard time waiting!

The one thing she REALLY wanted (and asked for at Christmas as well) was unicorn stompeez....slippers that have eyes that pop up as you walk.  She knew right away that this box was JUST what she had been wanting!

She requested tacos, bread, fruit, and chips for dinner.  It was a unique combination, but delicious!  I also picked up a big chocolate chip cookie so that she could blow out candles and we could sing to her.

It was a wonderful day and such a JOY to celebrate our sweet four year old!  

Her excitement made the day so much fun!!

We had a busy week...there are a few more fun celebrations for Rowan's birthday to come!
