We had my parents over on the Sunday before Rowan's birthday for lunch to celebrate our almost-four-year-old.
I made this invite for a Minnie Mouse themed party.
I have always enjoyed planning parties for the kids with lots and lots of special touches. This year, SIMPLE was the word! We didn't even have balloons for this party! Minnie napkins, confetti on the table, and a Minnie ears headband was about it for this one. Rowan still loved it, and I enjoyed keeping things simple this year.
We ate lunch and then Rowan opened her gifts from my parents and a couple from us too.
John went to the store with Trey to pick out a couple of things for her. They thought she would like this pillow pet "Dream Lites". It's a unicorn and she does love it!
This dollar spot microphone has been another hit. Rowan loves to sing, and hear herself sing, so this simple gift has already gotten lots of use!
Uncle Nate and Aunt Lynnae sent this box of 96 crayons along for Rowan. So thoughtful! Our little artist has had so much fun admiring all of her new colors!
My parents got her this Melissa and Doug cutting food set. She wanted to open it right away and give it a try.
She cut up all the food before moving on to the next gifts!
She also got these fun beads for making jewelry. These have been fun for both Rowan and Trey. :)
A Daisy Duck stuffed animal to match her Minnie Mouse! She LOVES this!!!
A special pic with Grandma and Grandpa.
I made a simple poke cake for this party and colored the cool whip frosting pink. This is what Rowan did while we sang to her. Our not-so-shy girl didn't really care for all of the eyes on her!
Such a fun way to begin Rowan's birthday week! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma K. for taking the time to make Rowie feel so loved!!
