Jansen Christmas fun!

We were so excited over Christmas break because our besties, the Jansens, were spending Christmas with Abby's family in Chicago.  We had scheduled a day for them to come up to see us.  It was only a day, and we stayed home the entire time, but every second with this family is treasured!

They brought Christmas gifts!

We first learned about Squinkies when we visited them last summer, so it was a very fitting gift from them to Rowan!

And, of course, Rowan loves a little bling!  Auntie Abby has great taste and loves shopping for a little girl!

Trey got a great new Tigers hat just like the adorable ones Nolan and Heath always wear.

Trey loves, LOVES Brooks.

They were so sweet playing catch together.

Seriously?  One of the sweetest boys ever.  So adorable and such a good little guy!

A quick photo attempt of all the kids right before they left.  Love these kids so much!!

And, of course, a photo with my bestie!  Any time spent with her is completely precious!

There were tears as they drove away after our day together.  It's always hard to say good-bye!

Mark was in on the secret, but little did Abby know that we had a little surprise planned for just two days later!!

Abby's family always plans a first birthday party for the boys with family and friends.  Her sister, Mallory, contacted me a few weeks prior about surprising Abby by coming to Brooks' party.  Um....yes, please!  There wasn't any doubt that I would figure out how to make it happen!

We decided to get a hotel room in Schaumburg for a night and make a fun little getaway out of it!  The kids were excited to have a night away and more time with Nolan, Heath, and Brooks!

Abby's reaction was a mixture of confusion and shock when we walked into the party.  It was WONDERFUL to be there to have some more time with them and to celebrate Brooks!

Mark had the Broncos game playing on his phone...of course that hooked Trey!

Happy 1st birthday, Brooks!

Mallory made delicious cupcakes (and adorable too!).

Another photo?  Of course!

The party was held on Nolan's actual birthday, so we brought his gift along and he opened it at the end of the night.

Mark, Abby, and the boys came to visit us at the hotel for a bit before we left on Monday morning (New Year's Eve).  Usually our good-byes are so sad, and this one had some sadness too, but there was also such joy knowing that we had gotten a few extra hours together.  It felt like a gift!  More time with my BFF is one of the best gifts ever!

We love this sweet family and cherish our time with them!!
