football fun

football season is always very busy at our house...but it is also so much fun! i have to admit, by the time john's season came to an end last week, i was more than ready to have my husband back, but also so glad for the time trey and i were able to spend at his games together. we made it to most of the home games, except when the weather was too rainy or cold to have trey out in it, and we were able to make it to two of the away games that were close to home. we were blessed with beautiful fall weather this year, and most weeks were lucky enough to sit in the sunshine to cheer the dux on to victory!
trey is at such a fun age and i think he knows about as much as any 18 month-old can know about football! he loves to throw the football with john at home, says "touchdown!" (with arm motions of course), and points out every football player that he sees on tv. he was mesmerized at every game with all of the action, and loved feeling brave enough to climb the bleachers and run around on his own. i can only imagine what next year will be like with trey and a baby!

for some reason, i never thought to take pictures at games this year, so at the final game last week i had to get the photos i could! it was cold and really windy, but we made the best of it. trey still had a great time!

watching the team warm up before the game
he was always able to spot john as soon as we entered the stadium!
cuddling up for a picture with mom
after the game, john took trey down onto the track. he escaped onto the field while the jv players were warming up.
he is a speedy little guy!

waiting

yes, we are waiting...waiting for our internet company to get ours up and running again! our internet has been down since wednesday, and they say that it will be back this coming wednesday, so i guess we'll see -- we are completely at their mercy! i had thursday and friday off this week and was hoping to do some blogging during that time - i have some cute photos from john's last football game on thursday - but i'll have to wait until our service is back. it's amazing how often we just hop online for things quickly -- like to check the weather or e-mail or whatever! we happen to be at john's parents house for lunch today, so i had to take advantage of the chance to let you all know where i've been. i'm still here, just not blogging. hopefully i'll be back soon!

belly photos

i'm feeling a little bit crazy to be "exposing" myself in this way -- posting photos of me and my belly on the blog -- but so many people have been asking, so i figured that this was just the easiest way. and, maybe someday i'll enjoy looking back and trying to remember what life was like before two kids. :)
anyway, i am 20 weeks now and finally feeling great. my energy has returned and so has my appetite! i gained 6 pounds last month alone...oops! but really, it is SO nice to be able to eat again! i figure i'm about even now, considering the 5 that i lost while i wasn't eating. :) my belly is getting bigger and bigger, and my wardrobe seems to be getting smaller and smaller! i began feeling the baby move about 3 weeks ago. this baby seems to be much less active than trey was, but maybe i just don't remember exactly what he was like at 20 weeks. it is so exciting to feel the baby move around...i often lay in bed at night thinking "please move!", but baby usually chooses to stay pretty quiet. could this be a sign of a calm baby to come???
i can't believe i'm posting these, so enjoy...

so happy at 20 weeks!
seriously, look at this belly!
trying to get a cute photo with trey.
he is spotting something down below...
...and now he's going for it! :)

i just couldn't resist

we had such a fun day today spending lots of time at home as a family. trey was in an especially silly mood and just acting so grown up! it has been almost impossible lately for me to get a good picture of him, but today he thought that it was so much fun to smile for the camera...what a treat! i took advantage of it and took pictures of him all day long! i just couldn't resist sharing some of my favorites. his baby days are behind us -- he looks and acts like such a little boy!

what a handsome, grown up smile!
trey doesn't like to speak in normal person volume...he seems to yell everything! (just one more trait that i think he gets from his mom. i've got to admit, it is pretty annoying sometimes that he seems to only have one volume -- LOUD! now i know how john feels when i talk on the phone to my equally loud friend, abby. love you abbs! :) )
i wonder how many pictures we'll end up having of trey in this car...
he ate half of a jar of grandma's homemade applesauce with his lunch today. he started out using a spoon, but soon realized that it is much more fun to eat applesauce with his hands!
he was even willing to cozy up to mom for a quick photo this afternoon. told you it was a good day.

oh boy

okay, we might be reaching the point where trey can get in and out of his crib on his own. he is such a climber and doesn't really seem to be afraid of anything (except dogs!). usually, if he has his mind set on getting somewhere, he'll find a way to get there. this is what he was doing this morning. maybe the transition into his big boy bunk bed will come at just the right time. then we really won't be able to contain him anymore!

his first attempt was on the side of his crib.

trying to figure out where to go next...
this move was especially fun until he let go and fell right on his back. he cried for a bit and then got right back up and did it again...what a boy!

18 months old

trey is 18 months old today...and i just can't believe it! is it possible that it was 18 months ago that we were meeting him for the first time, calling friends and family to share our happy news, and dreaming about who he would be today? it seems like he has been a part of our family forever, and yet 18 months just seems too old! he is growing and learning more all the time. he talks constantly (do you think he gets that from his mom???), he loves to try things on his own, and he also still has the greatest little sweet side. he loves to cuddle and be close to mom and dad. i am trying to savor that now, knowing that it won't last forever! it is so much fun to watch all of the little pieces of his personality emerge. we just couldn't be more proud of him, and we feel so fortunate to be his mom and dad!

here are some recent photos of the little guy...always on the move and usually having fun!!

enjoying a rare 80 degree day at the end of september.
he is still loving this truck -- i think it has been one of our best purchases so far!
the cozy coupe would be another great purchase...
he loves this car!
having fun at home with mommy one night this past week.
"YAY!!!"
and only a moment later...so serious! :)
